The Greek National Tourism Organisation (GNTO) is responsible for the marketing plan for Greece and its tourism promotion across the globe. Its mission is to organise, develop, and promote the country’s tourism product, by designing and implementing strategic plans and actions in Greece and abroad, through its offices in 14 countries. The Organisation sets up fam and press trips, workshops and roadshows in targeted markets, in collaboration with tour operators and also participates in international tourism fairs in order to boost Greece’s brand worldwide.
With its slogan "All You Want Is Greece" the GNTO invites travellers from all over the world, to get to know its history and culture, discover dreamy beaches, try sports and outdoor activities in the Greek countryside, enjoy city breaks, the famous Greek cuisine, nightlife, & shopping. The GNTO focuses on promoting both popular and lesser-known Greek destinations and experiences across the country with a view to implementing initiatives that respect the principle of sustainability.
GNTO participates in drawing up the tourism promotion programmes of each of the 13 Regions of Greece it is in close cooperation with. Furthermore, the Organisation and the National Centre for Public Administration and Local Government have established educational projects for the domestic tourism industry agencies and any stakeholders from the public and private sector.
The Organisation’s successful response to challenges such as providing updated information on the COVID-19 pandemic, amidst a highly unpredictable and insecure international environment, has aided further the Greek tourism ecosystem.
